The Representatives Council of the National Minimum Wage Commission agreed to increase 22% the general minimum wage for 2022 to be set as follows:
a. $260.34 pesos for the free zone of the northern border.
b. $172.87 pesos for the rest of the country.
This increase includes the Independent Recovery Amount (MIR), which shall not be used as a referral to set the rest of the salaries in the employment market (e.g., contractual salaries, benefits linked to the minimum wage, etc.) as the effective general increase was of 9%.
These minimum wages and the professional minimum wages will apply as of January 1, 2022, in accordance with the agreement published in the Federal Official Gazette on December 8, 2021.
